Electrify 2515 have provided a comprehensive overview of the project’s initial phase, focused on the recruitment of households and the installation experience so far with Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS). Key highlights include the importance of community engagement and planning for that in the longer term, the need for better household education on electric upgrades with reliable and trusted resources, and the challenges faced in recruiting strata and rental properties. The report also highlights the varying maturity of HEMS products and the need for installer training to ensure optimal functionality. Despite these challenges, the project has successfully engaged over 250 households and completed installation of ten homes with HEMS, paving the way for a larger future cohort of installations.
