About the program

Helping communities electrify New South Wales

We know that local organisations understand their communities, know the local challenges, and can engage people in ways that governments and national organisations often cannot. We also know we have a lot to share having delivered Australia’s first community-led electrification pilot - Electrify 2515 - and other innovative initiatives with others across NSW.

The Rewiring NSW Communities Program brings together community groups from across New South Wales into a coordinated statewide network, combining local knowledge with national expertise, practical resources and ongoing support.

Together we'll help households by:

  • Delivering events, home advice and engagement activities
  • Providing up to date information on how to electrify, and the benefits of doing so
  • Skilling up community groups and organisations to help people on their electrification journey

What partners receive

Successful partners will become part of a statewide community of practice and receive:

Grants

We’re seeking 15 community partners to deliver local electrification activities across New South Wales. Funding is available across three partnership levels, depending on your organisation’s capacity and the scale of activities you’d like to deliver.

Expected delivery:

  • A large-scale event or coordinated program
  • Activities might include major expos, regional roadshows, large-scale home advisory programs, community bulk-buy initiatives or community ambassador programs.
  • Approximately 1,500 households reached

Training, support and networking

Partners will take part in a tailored training and support program designed to help your local work go further. Throughout the program you'll receive:
