Rewiring Australia started the movement that is transforming how Australians power their homes, businesses, transport and industries. We’ve shown that going electric isn’t just good for the climate - it saves money, and creates healthier homes and communities. But we’re only getting started.
Our mission is to enable every Australian to make the switch to electric.
The ABC caught up with our founder and Chief Scientist Saul — in the US and here in NSW, where families are busy electrifying their homes. There was even a sneak peek of our new online tool — Electric Saul.
As Saul says: “I can find many reasons for hope. There are large trends — sometimes economists call them mega trends — that are just irreversible. Electrification is one of them.”

The AEMC self-initiated the Electricity Network Regulation Review to test whether the economic regulation of electricity networks is still fit for purpose as the system transitions. We identified a size of power generation systems that were underserved in energy regulation.
