On June 7, 2026 at Zestiny Farm on the NSW Central Coast, we're attempting the Guinness World Record for the world's largest BBQ cooking lesson — 400 people, cooking the same dish, at the same time, on Australia's first fully electric grill setup powered by Vehicle-to-Load technology.
The backstory:
Our goal is to break the Guinness World Record for the largest BBQ by attendance, currently 45,252 people set in Monterrey, Mexico. We're doing it sustainably, on Australian soil.
Step one is June 7, 2026 at Zestiny Farm. A Guinness World Record attempt for the world's largest BBQ cooking lesson. 400 people, electric grills, certified organic produce, zero fossil fuels. Come be part of it.
BORN FROM A QUESTION
Why does a big event have to mean a big footprint? We couldn't find a good answer, so we decided to prove it doesn't. The Big BBQ started as a conversation and grew into a movement — fuelled entirely by volunteers who believe in doing things differently.
REIMAGINING THE AUSSIE BBQ
The backyard BBQ is one of Australia's most beloved icons. We think it's ready for an upgrade. Electric grills. Organic produce. Zero waste. We're not getting rid of the spirit — we're making it something our kids can be proud of.
BUILDING THE COMMUNITY
WE START IN BACKYARDS.
Before we break any records, we're building the kind of community a world record actually needs. That means pop-up BBQs, backyard gatherings, and showing up at the places Australians already love — beaches, parks, local spots.
Every gathering is a chance to connect with people who care about good food, good company, and doing things a bit differently. If you come to one, you'll get it immediately.
